We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Community Dietetics team in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The post holder will be based in Ty Gwent. The post holder will play a vital role in taking the lead in the Community Dietetics administrative roles to ensure the robust delivery of our Diabetes Prevention Programme. We currently offer the programme in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly & Newport. This post is offered as a fixed term/secondment opportunity until 31st March 2026 due to funding. Main duties of the job The postholder will support the community dietetics team in the day-to-day administration and coordination of various communitydietetic services taking place in the Health Board.To provide administrative & booking support to the Diabetes Prevention Service within the Community Dietetics Team.Ensuring the diabetes prevention service achieves booking targets & work to improve efficiency and effectiveness to the benefit of the service. Use communication skills of empathy, motivation and explanation to assist and support dietetic staff in daily operational duties such as cover planning and reporting Acting as a resource for the Team Lead & Programme Manager regarding personnel policies and procedures including:All appointments are booked within internal and national targetsPatient focused booking and direct patient booking are utilised to increase clinic utilisation rates and reduce DNA ratesEnsure an efficient telephone service is maintainedSickness absence and recordingAttendance records and monthly payrole The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Person specification Skills Good written and oral communication skills Ability to plan work & meet deadlines Ability to work as part of a team & independently to deliver on tasks Polite and professional telephone manner Experience Experience working with the general public Experience of managing own time and organising activities Experience of using Microsoft windows, word & outlook packages Experience in typing roles and minute taking Previous experience working within a patient booking role Knowledge 5+ GCSE's or equivalent NVQ Level 3 relevant to admin role Knowledge of booking systems / PAS / primary care systems / similar Knowledge of Oracle or similar systems To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa , unless you have permission to work via another route.
