Electrical Engineer – Infrastructure Join to apply for the Electrical Engineer role at DP World, based at the London Gateway Port in Stanford le Hope, Essex. We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our infrastructure team. In this role you will ensure the availability of uninterrupted power to London Gateway Port and Park and ensure appropriate power solutions are planned and constructed to meet current and future demands. About The Role Maintain electrical infrastructure of port and park to industry standards while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and national/international standards. Plan and install electrical infrastructure of the port and business park to the needed capacity and standards for operation and expansion. Prepare and implement strategies to maintain the electrical infrastructure of port and park. Manage and supervise consultants, contractors and engineers required to construct, maintain and switch electrical infrastructure. Be a Senior Authorised Person for London Gateway, providing support during out-of-office hours in emergencies and unscheduled shutdowns. Ensure contracts are in place to call third‑party support to recover network from unexpected shutdowns. Ensure proficient functioning of SCADA and BMS to monitor electricity consumption of buildings, terminal lighting and equipment. Implement a metering strategy to record network losses and consumption of tenants and internal cost centres. Ensure 100 % availability and reliability of electrical supply to the port and park. Implement cost‑efficient and reliable strategy to manage/maintain the electrical infrastructure, considering business needs of tenants and LG’s objectives. Develop skills to manage day‑to‑day switching and electrical issues at the port and park. Plan timely maintenance of electrical infrastructure while considering operational and statutory requirements. Ensure LG’s Electrical Safe Systems of Works is updated to latest standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain compliance with Safe Systems of Works and keep all documentation in order. Manage a variety of electrical infrastructure construction or maintenance contracts to time, budget and quality expectations. Your Key Skills HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Demonstratable experience of HV network (>11kV) switching. Experience with HV cable jointing and terminating. Experience as HV Senior Authorised Person (SAP). ESSENTIAL. In‑depth knowledge and experience of maintaining and/or managing HV networks. 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018 A2:2022). Proactive problem solving and innovation, driving operational efficiency and excellence. Good understanding and experience of businesses requiring 24/7 support.
