Join to apply for the Senior Speech and Language Therapist role at Buy A Boat Now Job Summary: We are looking for a Band 6 Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join our pathway. This pathway helps babies and children aged under 5 in Devon (excluding Plymouth) with severe developmental delay in multiple areas. The Early Childhood Development Multi‑Disciplinary Team (MDT) includes Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Early Years Practitioners and Paediatricians. The team provides multidisciplinary assessment and intervention in line with the Thrive model for pre‑school age children presenting with significant developmental delay in at least two or more areas (cognition, play, communication). The successful candidate will provide specialist speech and language therapy assessments and interventions to children and their families, work with junior clinicians, provide supervision, and coordinate the clinic caseload. Responsibilities Manage a caseload of children and young people with complex Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), using evidence‑based practice in various settings. Provide clinical support and supervision within the CFHD pathway of care across designated pathways. Co‑ordinate the clinic with the Clinical Team Manager and oversee day‑to‑day caseload management. Participate in the provision of student placements. Coordinate team audit and monitoring of intervention outcomes and report to the locality lead. Use a strengths‑based approach to ensure clinical effectiveness through evidence‑based interventions, goal‑based and collaborative practice, and routine outcome measures. Promote and support participation of service users across the service. Participate in clinical audits and research when appropriate. Attend relevant training and development to maintain and develop skills and knowledge required of a specialist therapist, and maintain up‑to‑date HCPC and RCSLT registration. Qualifications Essential Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent. Full registration with the Health Professions Council. Registered Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Membership of relevant Special Interest Groups. Desirable Evidence of successful completion of specialist postgraduate short courses relating to paediatric communication disorders, including Learning Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
