We have a new opportunity for a Warehouse Shift Lead (WSL) within our Warehouse team in our Pontypool site as part of the Finsbury Food Group.Finsbury Food Group is a leading specialty bakery manufacturer. The Company’s unique approach to craft and baking creates premium gluten – free products with the flavour and taste of traditional bread. If you have special dietary need or nutritional preferences, then our Pontypool bakery has you covered. Our Products range from artisanal bread to our award winning Hot cross buns and Mince pies for Major Retailers such as M&S and Waitrose.To be successful in this role, you will lead, motivate, and develop warehouse and logistics teams to achieve operational KPIs while ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, food safety (BRC/HACCP), GMP, and security standards. You will manage all warehouse processes efficiently—from inbound through dispatch—maintaining strong inventory accuracy and operational control. You will also drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise efficiency and reduce waste, communicating effectively with internal teams and serving as the key escalation point for operational issues on site.This is what you’ll actually doAs Warehouse Shift Lead, you will own and drive the operational performance of the warehouse and on‑site logistics. You’ll provide leadership, strategic direction, and accountability for people, processes, and results. You will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations across all functions—including inbound, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, inventory, and workplace standards. Your role delivers on key metrics (Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, People, and Sustainability), acting as the senior operational leader on site. You will champion continuous improvement and uphold high standards of operational excellence at all times.will take full accountability for warehouse and logistics operations across all shifts, leading staffing, rota planning, performance management, coaching, and succession development. You will ensure strict compliance with SOPs, audits, and regulatory standards, while identifying process bottlenecks and implementing improvements that optimise performance. By working closely with Quality, Technical, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams, you will help maintain seamless end‑to‑end operations.
