Director, Valuation Advisory

OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and ambitious Director to join our Valuation Advisory team in Birmingham. This P4 level position offers the opportunity to lead high-profile retail and office valuation assignments while developing and mentoring junior team members. You will work with a diverse portfolio of lending clients including banks, building societies, and alternative lenders, providing strategic valuation advice across the retail and office sectors.ResponsibilitiesClient Leadership & Business DevelopmentLead client relationships and serve as primary point of contact for key lending clientsDevelop new business opportunities and maintain strong market presence in the Birmingham and wider Midlands regionPrepare and present compelling proposals and pitches to prospective clientsRepresent JLL at industry events, conferences, and networking functionsTechnical ExcellenceConduct complex valuations across retail and office property types for lending purposes including acquisition finance, refinancing, and portfolio valuationsPrepare detailed valuation reports for a variety of lending scenarios including term loans, development finance, and workout situationsEnsure all work complies with RICS Red Book standards and internal quality assurance proceduresTeam Leadership & DevelopmentManage and mentor more junior colleaguesOversee work allocation and ensure efficient delivery of client assignmentsProvide technical guidance and support career development of junior colleaguesContribute to recruitment and interview processes for new team membersMarket Intelligence & Thought LeadershipMaintain comprehensive knowledge of Birmingham and regional retail and office marketsAnalyze market trends, rental values, yields, and comparable transactionsContribute to JLL research publications and market reportsProvide market insights to clients and internal stakeholdersEssential RequirementsProfessional QualificationsMRICS qualification (or equivalent international qualification)Minimum 8-10 years of commercial property valuation experienceSubstantial experience in retail and office property sectorsStrong track record in a similar senior role within a leading consultancyTechnical SkillsExpert knowledge of valuation methodologies and RICS standardsProficiency in Argus Enterprise/Developer and other industry-standard softwareStrong financial analysis and modeling capabilitiesExcellent report writing and presentation skillsMarket KnowledgeDeep understanding of Birmingham and Midlands commercial property marketsStrong network of contacts within the regional property communityKnowledge of retail and office occupier markets and lending trendsUnderstanding of planning and development processesLeadership CompetenciesProven ability to manage teams and develop junior staffStrong commercial acumen and business development skillsExcellent client relationship management capabilitiesAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities #J-18808-Ljbffr
