Learning Support Assistant - (SEN School) Location: Eastleigh Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour Contract: Term Time Only Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with complex needs? Teaching Personnel is looking for a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Southampton. In this role, you'll support pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), physical disabilities, and medical conditions. This term-time position is perfect for those wanting to contribute meaningfully within an educational setting. Responsibilities Provide individual and small group support to pupils in the classroom Support communication strategies, including PECS and Makaton, as well as sensory approaches Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support teams to deliver individual education plans (IEPs) Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment promoting emotional and academic growth Help deliver tailored learning activities and therapeutic interventions Qualifications and Skills Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is highly desirable Confidence or willingness to be trained in personal care and physical support Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude in supporting complex needs Ability to work well both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Benefits Competitive pay at £13.75 per hour, paid weekly Term-time, full-time role (Monday to Friday) Long-term opportunity with potential for permanent placement Access to specialist training and continuous professional development (CPD) Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant throughout your placement If you're ready to make a difference and grow your career in special education, apply now All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
