We are looking for 3 days (8.00-14.00) and are flexible on the days. The contract is for a 12 month period but could potentially be extended. Craigmillar Medical Group is a large 12,000 patient practice in the heart of Craigmillar. We are a friendly and supportive team and get together every morning for coffee. The practice understands the importance of managing safe levels of workload and are committed to promoting workplace wellbeing. We are a teaching and training practice, and work as a large team including a nurse practitioner, mental health nurses, pharmacists and a community link worker as well as on site Citizens Advice, sexual health, midwife and community vaccination clinics. We value holistic person-centred care. Our highly-skilled care coordinators work alongside the clinicians to operate a telephone triage-based appointment system using Vision. Role Summary Role Summary : 22.50 hrs over 3 days (flexible on days) To support the practice nursing team in the delivery of nursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to our patient population. The healthcare assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education. Primary Responsibilities Undertake new patient health checks Undertake venupuncture. Support the practice nurse with health promotion programmes. Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately.
