If you can’t find anything you like you at the moment – register now, then check back soon – new opportunities are added all the time Volunteer Coordinator (Giving Corncrake a Home project) RSPB Northern Ireland The Giving Corncrake a Home project has successfully reintroduced corncrakes to Rathlin Island, and now we’re looking for a passionate Volunteer Coordinator to help us continue this incredible journey. What you will be doing Communication tasks to raise awareness of the project (e.g. write blogs, newsletters, social media posts) Admin tasks to support our volunteers (e.g. process expenses) Help organise Corncrake Community events Participate in nettle dig days with volunteers. What’s in it for you Full training will be given and you will be fully supported. We'll ensure you're provided with an RSPB mobile phone and are set up with access to the RSPB computer network so you can comfortably carry out your role at home. The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest bird conservation charity in Europe. We can give you a valuable insight into our work and you will become part of our team of staff and volunteers, getting the chance to develop your interests, as well as meeting new people and developing your skills in the field of conservation, widening your knowledge of some of NI’s most threatened bird species, developing your communication skills and experience of working with volunteers. Beneficial skills for this role Organisational skills and attention to detail. Friendly and approachable. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a small team. This is a rewarding and enjoyable role. You will be part of a small and friendly team of staff and volunteers. This is a chance to gain experience in working with people of all ages and to learn new skills and develop existing ones. You'd be making a real difference by supporting us run the Giving Corncrake a Home project. You'd be helping us to ensure that volunteers have a rewarding and enjoyable time with us.
