Job Summary This role requires you to have current right to work in the UK which enables you to undertake the role without need of sponsorship. MDT Coordinator – Band 4 Full‑time, fixed term contract (12 months) – 37.5 hours per week. A new starter will receive training and be integrated into a progressive Cancer Services Team to support patient care in line with National Cancer Waiting Times Guidance, Quality Surveillance and COSD. Responsibilities Pro‑actively administer and coordinate multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings in accordance with local Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring all new, suspected, confirmed and relapsed cancer diagnoses, and intended treatments are discussed with required clinical information available. Manage the tumour‑site specific MDT Patient Tracking List (PTL) following national guidance, actively managing patient pathways from suspect to commencement of treatment. Record all MDT outcomes on the MDT proforma with an identified owner, monitor actions and communicate to involved departments, expediting appointments and activities to meet national standards. Interrogate Trust information systems (e.g., Medway) to monitor patient pathways against 14‑day, 31‑day and 62‑day access standards, liaising with clinical teams and the Cancer Management Team about any unresolved issues. Provide administrative support to MDT meetings, produce and distribute relevant patient lists, ensure timely pathology and radiology requests, and record all information on the Trust Cancer Database. Qualifications – Essential Educated to at least A‑Level/diploma level or equivalent. Demonstrable evidence of recognised IM&T qualifications (minimum equating to ECDL). Demonstrable evidence of further relevant continual professional development. Qualifications – Desirable Keyboard skills to RSA II or equivalent. Database management experience. Oncology knowledge for non‑clinicians and/or National Cancer Intelligence Network e‑learning cancer modules. Experience – Essential Understanding of medical terminology relevant to the role. Demonstrable experience of effective teamwork in any setting. Previous experience of coordinating a service. Experience using data validation and extraction software. Experience handling highly sensitive information. Experience using MS Office applications. Experience – Desirable Previous NHS experience. Experience working in an MDT Coordinator role. Familiarity with patient clinical notes and data systems.
