Role Description This is a full‑time hybrid role for a Stoma and Pouch Care Specialist Nurse, based in Rochford, with an option for some remote work. The Specialist Nurse will provide expert care and support to individuals with ileostomies or internal pouches, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met. Key responsibilities include assessing patient needs, providing tailored care plans, offering education to patients and their families, conducting follow‑up consultations, and advocating for patient wellbeing. The nurse will collaborate with healthcare professionals and contribute to developing resources to enhance patient care. Responsibilities Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans. Provide education and support to patients and their families. Conduct follow‑up consultations and monitor ongoing care. Advocate for patient wellbeing and collaborate with healthcare teams. Support the development of resources to enhance patient care. Qualifications Clinical expertise in stoma care, wound management, and post‑operative care for patients with ileostomies or internal pouches. Compassionate communication, active listening, and patient education skills. Ability to assess patient needs and implement individualized care plans effectively. Strong collaboration skills to work with healthcare teams and contribute to multidisciplinary care. Organizational and time‑management skills to handle a hybrid role requiring both on‑site and remote responsibilities. Relevant Nursing Degree with a valid registration as a Nurse with a professional healthcare body. Experience in stoma and pouch care or related areas is highly desirable.
