Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager Are you an experienced EHS professional ready to take the lead in shaping a culture of safety, sustainability, and operational excellence? We’re looking for a dynamic Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join a global, plastics manufacturing business in Castleford. This is a hands‑on, strategic role where you’ll have the autonomy to make a real impact — developing best‑in‑class EHS programmes, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance across all areas of their operations. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. Lead site audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring proactive identification of hazards and non‑conformances. Drive incident investigations to determine true root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions. Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, identifying trends and leading improvement initiatives. Deliver engaging EHS training and awareness programmes across all levels of the organisation. Support the integration of EHS considerations into operational and strategic projects. Stay current with regulatory changes and industry best practices to maintain ongoing compliance. About You You’ll be a confident and proactive EHS professional who leads by example and thrives on driving positive change. Qualification in Occupational Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline. Professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent). Strong knowledge of UK EHS legislation, standards, and compliance frameworks. Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills across all levels. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and deliver actionable insights. Experience within waste management or recycling operations.
