OverviewGP Training Programme Director – Nine posts available for either 1 PA (4 hrs) or 2 PAs (8 hrs) at specific locations detailed below. Applications are welcome from current TPDs who wish to take on an additional assignment (will need to be worked Wednesdays).The roles are part of NHS England’s GP training programmes, with funding to support additional sessions across the South West GP training programme geography. The available sessions are mainly on Wednesdays and cover the following locations:BNSSG — 4 hrs / 1 sessionGloucestershire — 8 hrs / 2 sessionsSomerset — 8 hrs / 2 sessionsSwindon — 8 hrs / 2 sessionsCornwall — 4 hrs / 1 sessionExeter — 4 hrs / 1 sessionPlymouth — 4 hrs / 1 sessionHEFT — 2 hrs / 0.5 sessions (combined with 0.5 sessions of patch TPD commitments)Assessment — 8 hrs / 2 sessions (working with the assessment team to support Assessment and ARCP across the region)Patch allocations may be flexed to accommodate the location of the appointed HEFT TPD. The roles involve working with local Geographic teams to deliver the GP training programmes and may require support for other GP training programmes across the South West.ResponsibilitiesLead and facilitate the provision of education for General Practice trainees in the specified GP training programme.Collaborate with Educational and Clinical Supervisors to ensure high-quality supervision and educational outcomes.Deliver and oversee projects and workstreams to support doctors in training and practice-based educators, including induction, one-to-one support, small group work, and developing educational resources.Promote equality, diversity and inclusion within the training programme and act as an escalation point for educators and DiTs.Work with other local TPDs and administrators to facilitate the half-day release course for GPs in training.Lead on or contribute to whole workforce transformation and multi-professional links as part of programme evolution.If applying for HEFT or Assessment TPD roles, undertake the specific tasks associated with those roles and provide further information if requested.Location and timesThe role requires work primarily on Wednesdays, with the potential to support other GP training programmes in the South West as needed.
