Graduate Geotechnical or Geoenvironmental Engineer

OverviewGraduate Geotechnical or Geoenvironmental Engineer to be based in Newcastle, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme at Stantec. You will work with a friendly team, contributing to high-quality projects and applying your skills to real-world challenges. The team provides geoenvironmental and geotechnical expertise, collaborating on water company projects, infrastructure development, and community initiatives. You will work within multidisciplinary teams from initial design through construction.Geotechnical inputs include supporting ground investigations, assessing geotechnical laboratory data, creating ground models, and designing and reporting on foundations, retaining walls, soil and rock slope stability, and earthworks. You will utilise numerical analysis software and collaborate with other technical specialists on multidisciplinary design and construction projects.Geoenvironmental inputs include reviewing historical maps to identify potential sources of contamination, supporting ground investigations, evaluating contaminants in soils and groundwater, assessing environmental impact, and recommending remediation options. You will contribute to projects within the water industry, such as the design of new water recycling plants and transfer pipe mains.Stantec offers a supportive environment to develop professionally through our graduate programme and training opportunities. You should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Sciences or Chemistry, with a keen interest in working in the water sector.
