Location: Swindon Salary: £81.49 - £101.01 during trial (equivalent £17,842 – £19,698 actual salary, term time only) Type: Permanent - viatemp-to-perm contract (60 day trial contract) Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only) Start date: ASAP Our client is a very successful, multi-site Alternative Provision serving primary-aged learners in the Calne area of Wiltshire. They are currently in the process of preparing to open a site in Swindon and are interested in experienced and/or qualified education staff to join their new team. We are seeking someone with previous experience and able to act as a positive role model to young children. We would like to hear from applicants who have previous experience of working with children that have SEMH, are experiencing trauma and display challenging behaviour and other areas of SEND. Although it's preferred to have worked in an education setting with SEND learners, certain other experiences could be taken in to account. Currently, their well-established AP has expanded and their sites are bright and inviting learning environments. They have built a wonderful staff team who are friendly, hard-working, dedicated and collaborative. Pupils work on a rotation basis so all members of staff will work in small groups or 1:1 with every pupil at some point. The AP lead heavily using a THRIVE approach and also with music therapy. Building on their successes, they now are offering a coaching & mentoring approach to upper KS2 pupils to prepare them for the transition to secondary school. They also now have a successful Forest School and outdoor education programme to enhance pupil engagement and offer outreach opportunities & services to local primary schools. The plan is to use their existing successful service as a template for their new site in Swindon so if you want to work in a SEND specific setting and work in a positive setting - this is the job for you. If you have already had training in positive behaviour management (such as Team Teach) and/or THRIVE training we would be very interested in hearing from you. If you have practical experience of working with children displaying challenging behaviour and are successful in your application for this post, Team Teach training will be offered free of charge. It would be great to hear from you if you have… Experience of working with children who have had to overcome barriers and difficult situations The ability to engage parents in supporting children at home by helping to set boundaries and managing behaviour Are confident with working alongside outside organisations to support positive change for these children The desire to go through training and deliver ideas so that the school can implement these immediately or in the near future. Passionate about working with young people in education Have a good understanding of what makes an effective intervention strategy Are committed to safeguarding young people and helping them overcome difficulties Are committed to ensuring students maximise every opportunity to achieve academically and personally Are able to work within a dynamic and challenging environment Have excellent communication and teamwork skills This is a full-time permanent opportunity which will start on a 60 paid-days basis and will become permanent on successful completion of the trial period. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for a role which offers training opportunities and to be part of a supportive school which has expansion plans in the near future. Elementa will be managing all applicants and screening their suitability for the school. Elementa are not a supply agency, we are a schools services & recruiting partner to schools. We will manage the candidate vetting & compliance and process your payroll on behalf of the school whilst on trial contract. It's likely that the school will engage the successful candidate on trial contract through Elementa (60 day contract, paid to scale from the outset) to assess suitability and confirm the intention of engagement on permanent contract. Therefore applicants being considered for the role after pre-screening will be required to complete the registration process for Elementa. This includes full vetting & background checks and application for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £64.20) unless you have a current DBS on the update service. If you have the relevant skills and experience necessary for this role then please apply with your full up to date CV. All applicants will be promptly responded to. ELEMENTA CANDIDATE COMMITMENT: Weekly pay – no waiting for monthly payroll cut off dates, Elementa pays one week in lieu.
