Whether you're working on Linux-based real-time applications or Windows-deployed software tools, you'll be developing high-performance, robust code that supports mission-critical systems in the field. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a specialist programme pushing the boundaries of underwater systems.Location: Manchester or Crawley 4 days per week on siteClearance: Must hold or be eligible for UK SC ClearanceExperience Level:8+ years of relevant experienceKey Responsibilities:Design, develop and debug high-quality C++ software for Linux or Windows targetsSupport the integration of software into wider sonar platforms and acoustic systemsImplement and maintain unit testing and support wider test and verification activitiesCollaborate in an Agile environment using tools like JIRA, Bitbucket, and ArtifactoryFeed into project dashboards, risk logs, and contribute to team planning and reportingEngage closely with multi-disciplinary teams including systems and test engineersQualificationsRequired Skills:Proficient in C++ (and Java exposure beneficial)Experience developing on either Linux or Windows targets (e.g. Ubuntu, CentOS, Visual Studio)Knowledge of signal processing, underwater acoustics, or sonar-related applicationsFamiliar with Bitbucket, JIRA, Artifactory, and modern CI/CD pipelinesExperience working in Agile teams with defined development processesExcellent communication, documentation, and team collaboration skillsRequired Qualifications:A Bachelors or Masters degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or related disciplineOR a relevant technical military background with equivalent hands-on engineering experienceMust be eligible for UK SC Security Clearance (Minimum 5 Years in the UK)Desirable Skills:Strong background in unit testing, debugging, and system integrationAwareness of automated testing practices and DevOps toolchainsFamiliarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS or PolarionScripting ability in Python, Shell, or BashAdditional InformationWhy join us?We foster a community of dually talented individuals who are both entrepreneurs and technology specialists.
