Job Ref: NOB2537 Branch: Nobu Hotel London Portman Square Location: London Portman Square, West London Salary / Benefits: Up to £70,000 with service charge, bonus and benefits Contract type: Permanent Hours: Full Time Hours per week: 40 hours per week Posted date: 17 / 11 / 2025 Closing date: 19 / 12 / 2025 The Role - Chief Engineer As Chief Engineer, you will lead the Engineering division with vision and precision - ensuring the hotel’s infrastructure, safety and performance meet the highest standards of luxury hospitality. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for strategic planning, compliance, and the seamless operation of all building systems, while fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement. You will Oversee the maintenance and performance of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and life-safety Develop and implement a comprehensive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program to minimise downtime Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, Building Regulations and statutory testing requirements Manage the Engineering budget, including cost control, forecasting and CAPEX planning Lead vendor sourcing, contract management and procurement to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness Oversee refurbishment, upgrade and sustainability projects aligned with ESG goals Maintain accurate records for all plant, equipment and statutory documentation Train, mentor and develop the Engineering team, promoting a culture of excellence and safety Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives to reduce costs and environmental impact Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver strategic objectives and uphold Nobu brand standards Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure continuity of service at all times Continuously identify and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and guest experience Perform any other duties required to support the smooth operation of the hotel What We’re Looking For You bring proven leadership experience in engineering within a luxury hospitality environment.
