Overview CARE SUPPORT ASSISTANT (EDUCATION) or (RESIDENTIAL) Permanent part time, term time roles. 39 working weeks and 6.4 paid holiday. Salary: varies by hours per week: 24 hours per week: Monday to Thursday, 3.30pm to 9.30pm. £12.60 per hour (£14,307 actual gross p.a.) 16 hours per week: Monday to Thursday, 6.00pm to 10.00pm. £13.50 per hour (£9,811 actual gross p.a.). Other remuneration: £14,716 actual gross p.a. at 24 hours per week with other shifts as applicable. Responsibilities Support students across class or residential settings to develop independence, life skills and confidence. Assist with physical, social, emotional and educational needs, including daily activities such as mealtimes, personal care and mobility. Support learning, life skills and activities that promote independence and personal development. Follow student care plans and maintain safety while supporting students’ wellbeing. Participate in specialist training as required, including medication and gastrostomy feed administration. What we are looking for Physically able to move, handle and support students safely. Committed to professional development, including working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare if applicable. Patient, respectful and supportive, with excellent communication skills. Understands safeguarding and child protection principles. Positive, resilient, adaptable and able to respond to changing situations. Desirable: Experience in a school or residential setting, GCSEs in English and Maths, Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or knowledge of SEND practice.
