Advanced Specialist Prehabilitation & Post-operative Care Dietitian Apply for the Advanced Specialist Prehabilitation & Post-operative Care Dietitian role at MT Consulting Group Job Summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 surgical prehabilitation dietitian. The post holder will provide expert dietetic advice, education and support in an outpatient and ward setting to identify adult patients requiring nutritional optimisation pre‑ and post‑colorectal surgery, working alongside a St Marks multidisciplinary team (MDT). The ideal candidate should have strong gastroenterology experience, in particular colorectal and parenteral nutrition, and demonstrate good time management and communication skills. The successful applicant will be based at the Central Middlesex Hospital site where St Marks Hospital is situated, part of London North West University Healthcare Trust NHS Trust. The dietitians are an established and valued part of the MDT and the post will also provide cover to the intestinal failure team if needed. Main Duties Lead, plan, deliver and evaluate the St. Marks Hospital clinical dietetic service to the complex colorectal prehabilitation service, based at Central Middlesex Hospital. Manage and optimise nutrition support for post‑operative colorectal surgical patients. Support patients with weight management pre‑operatively. Share an in‑patient caseload on the gastroenterology ward (including the enhanced care unit).​ Lead and carry out regular clinical audit or research into this specialist area. Provide theoretical and practical training, teaching and professional development support for dietitians, student dietitians, medical, nursing staff and allied health professionals in this area. Ensure work is in line with departmental, Trust and national dietetic standards. Participate in the organisation, management and development of the dietetic team.
