The Opportunity
Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit a Site based Design Liaison Engineer to work on the SIXEP Continuity Plant (SCP), being delivered by the Programme and Project Partners (PPP) at Sellafield.
The newbuild SCP facility will play a vital part in Sellafield’s purpose to create a clean and safe environment for future generations. The role will be within the Civil, Structural and Architectural (CS&A) Design team, but will be based at Sellafield Site for 4 days per week.
The Role
The CS&A Site based Design Liaison Engineer will be a qualified and proven Structural Engineer who will be based at the SCP site and will liaise closely with both the Design Team and Construction stakeholders. The candidate will be expected to have the following attributes:
Skills, Experience and Duties:
* Degree in relevant engineering discipline (E.g. Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering etc)
* Chartered Engineer (preferred but not essential)
* Experience with the design of reinforced concrete and steelwork-based structures and appropriate codes and standards (Eg Eurocodes)
* Experience with checking of miscellaneous specialist calculations and reports including Temporary Works reports
* Experience in creating and interpreting engineering drawings
* Ability to Review, justify and prepare Design Changes deemed necessary
* Good stakeholder management skills so that they can be the main point of contact on site for anything Civil or Structural Design related and liaising appropriately with the office-based Design Team including answering Technical Queries.
* Continual ongoing assurance of the application of CDM
* It may be necessary to attend meetings and make visits to off-site fabrication works
