OverviewBecome a Support Worker with Active Prospects Location: Brighton, East Sussex. Salary: £12.75 per hour. Service Type: Adult Complex Care Service. We also have the Disability Confident Leaders employer accreditation.Our new Brighton service supports 4 people requiring a wide range of support from emotional support, learning new coping mechanisms, and helping them to express their true selves.The role is about supporting people to lead a Gloriously ordinary life full of opportunity, fun and helping people to reach their goals and aspirations. The role can be tough, but the rewards outweigh it.ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 and some shared day and night support, focusing on emotional support, learning coping mechanisms, and person-centred care.Support people with enduring mental health needs and a willingness to learn and practice Positive Behaviour Support.Support individuals who may self-harm, experience anxiety, or display behaviours of concern, with calm, consistent approaches.Encourage independence and empowerment, helping people to live a life of opportunity and personal growth.Collaborate with the team to deliver a cohesive support plan and maintain open communication with colleagues and supervisors.Qualifications and ExperiencePassion for working with people with mental health challenges, learning disabilities, and autism.Interest in psychology behind complex behaviours and commitment to ongoing learning and training.Willingness to participate in Positive Behaviour Support practices.Reliable and patient approach with resilience and calm under pressure.Benefits and OpportunitiesCompetitive pay of £12.75 per hour with additional pay on some Bank Holidays.Enhanced pay when taking maternity, paternal, or adoption leave.Employee Assistance Programme with free legal support and counselling.Support with gaining further qualifications in Social Care (levels 3 and 5).Career progression opportunities; 80% of management progressed into current roles from within the company.Recruitment referral bonuses and an inclusive, friendly, and supportive environment.Induction programme with classroom and on-the-job training.Additional InformationActive Prospects has an amazing induction programme to prepare employees for their roles.
