Laboratory Technician

Base pay range Ormskirk, West Lancashire £24,000 to £32,000 per annum + Bonus Scheme + 25 Days Holiday + 8 Percent Pension + Training and Development Excellent opportunity for an experienced Laboratory or Technical Technician to join a global engineering business working on advanced materials and next‑generation products used across multiple industries. The company operates a large R&D function supporting innovation, product improvement and technical support across its UK and international operations. It is now looking to add an experienced Technician to its laboratory team to support ongoing development work, specialised testing and operation of technical equipment. In this role you will operate and maintain laboratory equipment, prepare test samples, support experimental work and carry out a range of physical and material performance tests. You will record results accurately, work with spreadsheets and internal systems, and assist with organising and manipulating data produced during testing activities. You will follow structured procedures and contribute to both short‑term improvement projects and longer‑term R&D initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in a laboratory, technical workshop or manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure to mechanical testing, materials testing, precision measurement, or operating complex equipment. Strong organisational skills, good numerical ability, and confidence working with data sets and basic spreadsheet tools are desirable.
