Job Title: Porter/Handyman Salary: £25,553 per annum Contractual Hours: 40 per week Contract: Permanent Type of Employment: Full Time Location: Norfolk Constabulary HQ, Jubilee House, Falconers Chase, Wymondham, Norfolk, England, NR18 0WW The role of a Porter/Handyman involves assisting with the delivery, physical setup, and dismantling of furniture and equipment for events and office moves. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness across the site, collecting and delivering waste, goods, and items from offices and the post room, and ensuring all waste streams are properly segregated, handled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with site and contractor requirements. The position also requires operating various cleaning equipment for specialist buildings and performing basic maintenance tasks. Adherence to local security measures and client policies is essential, along with active participation in training, staff development, and team meetings. Flexibility in work patterns, systems, and locations is expected to maintain client standards. Candidates must comply with reasonable management requests, be British nationals or naturalised UK citizens, have no previous convictions, and be willing to undergo an intrusive clearance process. To succeed in this role, applicants should have prior experience in a similar environment, be skilled in lifting and handling furniture and equipment, and demonstrate strong customer service and teamwork abilities. A positive attitude, good communication skills, and professional appearance are important. Candidates must be willing to complete police clearance, be hands‑on, and open to learning new tasks.
