Senior Cost Consultant - Ports at Mace Join to apply for this senior cost consulting role, where you will help deliver a transformational port expansion project in Immingham. Project Overview The Immingham Eastern Ro‑Ro Terminal (IERRT) is a major infrastructure project (over £200m) designed to expand the Port of Immingham’s roll‑on/roll‑off freight capacity. It involves constructing two new ferry berths, a passenger terminal, UK border force facilities, and landside improvements such as vehicle parking areas and upgraded road networks. The facility will be operated by Stena Line following a lease agreement between ABP and Stena Line. Responsibilities NEC4 post‑contract administration of design and build main contract target cost contract. NEC4 target cost audits and assurance reviews of applications for payment. Cost and performance reporting. Procurement support: reviewing main contractor tender documentation and evaluating contractor and supplier bids from a cost perspective. Contract administration: work closely with legal and commercial teams to administer contracts, manage variations, and assess claims and compensation events. Change management: evaluate the cost impact of project changes, ensuring all variations are captured, valued, and reported in a timely manner. Qualifications Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent). Professional membership (e.g., MRICS/RICS or equivalent). Detailed knowledge of most forms of contract. Sound knowledge of value engineering, life‑cycle costing, contract law, and contractual frameworks relating to construction. Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sector/market of the project/role. Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s. Additional Skills Demonstrable experience delivering service excellence to clients. Proven experience in cost planning, budgeting and estimating. Strong negotiating, influencing and communication skills. Sound understanding of costs, timescales, and risk implications. Experience with different contract types and methods of measurement. Knowledge of BIM techniques and applications. Negotiation and analytical skills. Digital competence.
