Our purpose is to create an environment where everyone can “thrive in a rapidly evolving world.” About the Role We are looking for an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our team. The role is mainly based at Little Downsend Leatherhead, with one day a week at Little Downsend Ashtead. You will support pupils’ education, welfare and personal care in line with school policies. Responsibilities include assisting with changing where age‑appropriate, maintaining a positive, safe and stimulating classroom environment, planning and delivering lessons with teachers, sharing responsibility for discipline and pastoral care, safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing, and contributing to school life through break and lunchtime duties, staff meetings, INSET days, parents’ events and open mornings. Who We Are Looking For You should hold an NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator) or an equivalent Level 3 qualification, plus GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Experience in a school setting, a strong understanding of child development and learning processes, and a commitment to high‑quality childcare and early learning are required. You must demonstrate an inclusive practice attitude, be confident supporting professional staff, and be able to supervise children while adhering to behaviour management policies. A thorough understanding of child safeguarding arrangements is essential.
