Innovation Operations and Delivery Lead

Barclays Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Innovation Operations and Delivery Lead Barclays invites you to apply for the Innovation Operations and Delivery Lead role. This position will drive best‑in‑class delivery management practices aligned to our Innovation operating model to enhance consistency, efficiency, quality and performance across Innovation projects and initiatives. Accountabilities Collaborate with a range of stakeholders to develop a portfolio of open innovation and strategic initiatives through experimentation, co‑creation and access to innovative technology capabilities, products and services and a global innovation ecosystem. Develop and deliver frameworks, ideation, training and tools to build a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing to enable new and creative ideas/solutions that deliver on the bank’s strategy. Provide a global platform and curated ecosystem of partners to inform strategy, drive connectivity and new insights. Develop the strategic capabilities and programmes for the bank to deliver on its strategy, supporting the exploration, evaluation and execution of innovation and investment opportunities. Manage and coordinate between external stakeholders/partners and the bank, to successfully deliver joint projects and initiatives. Deliver thought leadership and insights to inform strategic decision making and organisational readiness, in conjunction with regular research, identifying emerging technologies and trends. Develop and manage key metrics including key partnerships, innovation initiatives and impact through regular assessments to calculate the return on investment and identify any potential risks and issues. Required Experience & Competencies Innovation Delivery Management: Experience leading end‑to‑end delivery of an applied innovation lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives and existing frameworks. Relationship Management: Proven track record of engaging and aligning stakeholders to deliver innovation, including opportunity and challenge, objectives, governance structures and strategic priorities, with experience leading cross‑functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and accountability. Technology Literacy & Innovation: Strong grasp of digital platforms, AI, emerging technologies and customer innovation with experience of applying them strategically to drive innovation. Highly Valued Skills Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Ability to navigate a fast‑changing landscape, including shifts in market conditions, fintech disruptions and emerging technologies. Comfortable adjusting strategies as needed. Process Improvement: Experience developing and refining repeatable and sustainable processes to enhance efficiency and scalability for innovation, whilst driving Agile adoption to support continuous improvement. Regulatory Acumen & Risk Awareness: Deep understanding of regulatory requirements, compliance standards and risk management practices, ensuring that innovation strategies align with industry regulations. Expectations & Leadership Behaviours The role will involve strategic thinking, change leadership and collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Expectations include resource planning, budget management, continuous improvement, risk mitigation, stakeholder engagement, and demonstrating the Barclays values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence and Stewardship as well as the Barclays mindset of Empower, Challenge and Drive.
