Mental Health Liaison Lead Practitioner Employer: Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Location: Swindon, Great Western Hospital, District General Hospital (Swindon Community CAMHS) Contract: 12 month fixed‑term, part‑time About the Role With a national focus on improving services for children and young people’s mental health, you will lead the Mental Health Liaison Service at the district general hospital in Swindon. You will provide leadership and clinical support, ensuring a consistent, responsive, high‑quality, user‑friendly service is delivered. You will contribute to modernisation, ensuring children and young people receive the correct support at the right time, place and with the right skills. Responsibilities Assess deliberate self‑harm Support patients admitted with an eating disorder Contribute a psycho‑social perspective to patients admitted Provide day support and consultation to hospital staff where a mental‑health need is identified Identify and provide CAMHS training (may involve other CAMHS colleagues) Provide primary link to CAMHS within the acute District General Hospital Develop an area of clinical leadership/specialism within Swindon Community CAMHS Qualifications & Requirements Experienced Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker Ability to undertake comprehensive assessments of young people with mental health needs presenting to a district general hospital Strong risk assessment and management skills, including positive risk taking Experience providing clinical leadership and supervising team members Benefits Excellent opportunities for career progression Access to tailored individual and Trust‑wide learning and development 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, rising to 33 days with continuous service NHS discount across a wide range of shops, restaurants and retailers Competitive pension scheme Lease car scheme Cycle to work scheme Employee Assistance Programme Mental Health First Aiders Staff accommodation (waiting lists may apply) Staff networking and support groups hosted by our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion team Our Values Our vision is that no matter who you are or where you are, you will tell us that you receive: “Outstanding care delivered by an outstanding team”.
