Job Overview We are looking for experienced tax professionals to join our pre‑eminent Financing & Treasury Tax advisory team in London, focusing on privately owned companies, at an experienced Manager or Associate Director level. Investment into privately owned companies has reached record highs, and private capital markets are emerging as a dominant force for industry growth. At Deloitte, our dedicated team of tax professionals advises on financing & treasury tax for a diverse range of clients including emerging growth businesses, private equity backed companies, and large family businesses. Our focus is on providing value throughout the entire lifecycle: organic growth, international expansion, M&A, refinancings, carve‑outs and disposals. As a key member of our national and international network, you will help grow the firm’s presence in this important sector. You will also benefit from flexible hybrid working arrangements, with the choice of working locally in London, virtually or remotely, subject to your role’s requirements. Responsibilities Provide technical advice across financing and treasury tax projects for privately owned companies, including: Raising acquisition finance for M&A transactions (including complex instruments such as convertible loans); Interest deductibility reviews (late interest, hybrids, transfer pricing, unallowable purpose and corporate interest restriction rules); External debt refinancing / restructuring; FX and commodity hedging; The taxation of derivative contracts (interest rate swaps, currency forwards, put / call options and warrants); Implementing cash management strategies and cash pooling projects; Intra‑group reorganisations and loan simplification projects. Work closely with client service teams and specialist teams such as M&A Tax, Transfer Pricing, Accounting Advisory, Corporate Treasury and Deloitte Legal to deliver integrated tax advice; Manage diverse teams and develop junior team members, coaching and mentoring where appropriate. Qualifications UK corporate tax or equivalent experience gained working in a compliance, advisory or transactions team; Attention to detail and strong technical skills across UK corporation tax areas; Experience of financing and treasury projects is preferable but not required; Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to deal effectively with stakeholders face‑to‑face and by telephone; Demonstrated skill in managing stakeholder expectations and delivering to the highest standards; Own initiative to identify appropriate solutions to problems; Independence and team‑working skills, ability to work independently and meet demanding deadlines; High degree of IT literacy, including Microsoft Office programmes.
