# IT 2nd Line Engineer## Job Introduction**IT 2nd Line Engineer****Location: Derby****Salary: £29,970 - £36,483 ( Band 5 )****Contract Type: Permanent**As a member of the IT Operations team, the post holder will have a focus on ensuring the delivery of high performing, reliable, responsive and resilient IT and Telephony services at all operational sites throughout the DHU organisation. The post holder will work within a team of DHU IT professionals supported by a number of key 3rd party partners supporting colleagues working for DHU Health Care. A commitment to a quality service, excellence in healthcare and the development of the company are integral to the role and the development of the service**What your typical day looks like:*** Deliver 2nd line Engineer support and operational maintenance across all technologies employed by DHU working closely with 3rd party partners to resolve incidents and problems* Support IT project tasks and IT service improvements working with internal stakeholders and 3rd parties to deliver system enhancements and new services* Provide assistance and act as the escalation point for the service desk* Monitor storage availability and carry out preventative maintenance as identified by 3rd parties and responding to critical alerts from the service monitoring toolset* Contribute to the development of support documentation, preparing knowledge article documentation and reviewing existing process where appropriate* Work as part of a team or act alone in a technical environment without direct supervision* Undertake occasional 1st Line duties when required* Travel between sites from which DHU operate in order to provide IT and Telecoms services when necessary to support project and business needs* To work as a team providing on site cover between 9:00am -17:00 including bank holidays, or as agreed from time to time* To be part of the 7 day a week on-call rota for the IT and Telecoms services as an esc**To be a successful 2nd Line Engineer you will need:*** At least 2-3 years experience within and IT 2nd line support role* Technical Experience equivalent to MCSE/MCSA in server support with evidence of continued professional development* Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an IT related subject gained through specific relevant experience* ITIL V3/4 foundation* Ability to produce high quality documentation to enhance the quality and reliability of IT services* Experience of troubleshooting end- user networking incidents and escalating when required* Experience of telephony services such as Mitel and or CXOne* On- site and remote hardware build and deployment (intune, Apple Business Manager, Autopilot )* Windows Migration experience and strong knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems including Active Directory ( on-prem)**What DHU can offer you:****Working Patterns:**We recognise that 9-5 doesn’t work for everyone, so we have a range of working patterns available to suit your work/life balance.Our friendly team will work with you to find the best fixed pattern for us both.**Generous annual leave entitlement:**Standard 25 days + 8 bank holidays, increasing with service up to 33 days + 8 bank holidays.
