We are currently supporting a large healthcare organisation based in the West Midlands, in the appointment of a senior Decontamination professional. This is an interim consultancy position for an initial period of 3 months but may extend beyond this period. Due to the nature of this role from an operational perspective, will likely require 4 days onsite. Accommodation can be provided.

The post holder will be responsible for Trust wide decontamination matters, assisting with the purchase and ongoing monitoring of water disinfectors and equipment providing advice and a resource to managers on the compliance of their equipment, procedures, and decontamination processes in accordance with current standards.

Act as Decontamination Lead for the organisation, responsible for interpretation and implementation of national statutory and NHS guidance, including HTMs, EN Standards and HBNs and ensuring ongoing compliance. Manage the HSDU, ensuring services are provided to meet the needs of the Trust and other customer departments covered by contract or service agreement.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Recent experience in Decontamination setting at senior level. Evidence of understanding and implementation of HTM/EN/HBN Standards related to Decontamination.

* Knowledge of HSDU quality systems including tracking

* Evidence of City & Guilds/Foundation qualification in Decontamination or relevant experience in a decontamination management role.

* Holds Eastwood Park Decontamination – Operational Management DTM

* Maintain up to date knowledge of changing practices in sterilising and production techniques.
