The role As a Principal Environmental Consultant, you’ll apply your expertise to solve complex challenges, influence national energy security, and help shape sustainable solutions for the future. This is a strategic role where your decisions matter — driving innovation and supporting our rapid growth agenda. Day-to-day, you will Lead the development and implementation of integrated waste management strategies. Resolve technical issues and compile detailed reports and presentations. Provide technical direction and mentor team members. Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies. Drive consultancy growth in line with Cavendish Nuclear’s strategy. This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week, based in Warrington, Cheshire. Hybrid working patterns are available. Essential experience of the Principal Environmental Consultant Extensive experience in the nuclear industry with applied knowledge across areas such as decommissioning, site restoration, spent fuel management, and environmental planning. Proven ability to develop waste management strategies and liaise with regulators and clients. Strong leadership and people management skills. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement. Consultancy experience and familiarity with industry best practice. Qualifications for the Principal Environmental Consultant Degree in Engineering or Science. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or Scientist status (essential). Additional certifications in waste management or nuclear safety (advantageous). Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
