Head Veterinary Surgeon – Chelmsford, Essex We have an exceptional opportunity for a Head Veterinary Surgeon to join the fantastic team at a successful small animal veterinary practice in the City of Chelmsford area, ESSEX. Salary offered up to £100,000 per annum (subject to experience). Hours worked over 3 or 4 days per week (9am-7pm) including 1 in 4 weekends on a rota basis and no OOH. Practice is purpose built with great facilities and up to date equipment and technologies including ultrasound, digital x-ray, multi-parameter monitoring, and in-house laboratory. Caseload offers a full spectrum of first opinion cases with mainly dogs and cats alongside some small furries and exotics. Surgical caseload includes neutering, mass removal, dentistry, basic ophthalmic surgery, emergency surgeries (pyometra, c-section, foreign bodies, cystotomies) and surgical and non-surgical wound management. Strong surgical and medical skills required. Join a fabulous team of 3 vets (including 1 New Graduate), an exceptional team of 7 nurse staff, a friendly team of 4 receptionists and an experienced Practice Manager. CPD allowance and funding towards certificates. Person Requirements Degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent. Registered with the RCVS. Existing Head Vet looking for change or a Senior Vet looking to step up.
