Senior Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Senior Clinical Fellow in Gastro on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Gastro department.

Our client is a combined acute and community provider delivering a range of health care services, currently employing more than 4,200 members of staff. This trust is currently undergoing a transformation, winning various awards such as: The Trust's in-house digital system, SEPIA, highlighted in the HSJ Awards, Acupin Therapy recognized in the Royal College of Nursing Awards, and Ear Care and Audiology Services winning a Nursing Times Award for innovation and transformation of patient services.

The successful appointee will be asked to fulfill various duties, such as:

  1. Attend formal ward rounds and possible out-patient clinics as required.
  2. Attend other ward rounds and visits to individual patients as necessary.
  3. Arrange and assist special examinations (X-ray, ECG, Path, etc.) as needed.
  4. Keep required records for medical and/or administrative reasons.
  5. Communicate fully (subject to confidentiality and patient interests) with patients, their relatives, family doctors, and other Health and Social Service colleagues.
  6. Perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation with colleagues.
