Band 5 Rotational Occupational Therapist

Band 5 Rotational Occupational Therapist We are seeking permanent, full‑time Band 5 Occupational Therapists to join a rotating scheme delivering services from a variety of clinical settings and bases across Torbay and South Devon Healthcare Trust sites. Working across 7 days will be required, and the position will cycle through different wards, out‑patient departments, intermediate care facilities, patients’ own homes and community facilities every 6 months. Support and development include a preceptorship scheme, clinical supervision and wide access to a range of development opportunities. Under the supervision of a Band 6 Occupational Therapist you will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to provide specialist occupational therapy input aimed at achieving maximum independence for all patients. You will work in accordance with the professional code of conduct, standards of practice and operational policy for this service. Why work with us? Our rotation of 15 different placements offers the chance to work in a variety of locations in the stunning South Devon area, covering coast, countryside and urban settings across practice areas such as acute and community hospitals, social care, paediatrics and intermediate care teams. We also provide a 12‑month multi‑disciplinary preceptorship programme for all newly qualified, newly appointed and return‑to‑practice staff to be completed within the first year of employment at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT). Our Occupational Therapists have the opportunity to attend and participate in a monthly Band 5 Occupational Therapy forum, offering peer support, updates and in‑house training. Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy or graduating in 2025Current HCPC registrationExperience of working as part of an Occupational Therapy or multidisciplinary teamKnowledge of relevant national service frameworks and clinical guidelinesEvidence of ability to work well within a multi‑disciplinary teamCommitment to monthly supervision and to service‑wide development working groups as appropriateWriting/typing reportsAbility to impart information concerning diagnosis and poor prognosis of physical recovery to patients and their carersAbility to work with patients in settings that could be cramped, cluttered, unsafe, unhygienic and remote Full vacancy details can be found on the attached Job Description and Person Specification.
