Job Title: Electronic Design Engineer Location: Frome (Hybrid Working - 3 Days On-Site Per Week) Salary: Up to £65,000 (Depending on Experience) (Please Note All Applicants Must Be UK Based, No Sponsorship Provided) Job Overview: A requirement for an additional electronics engineer, focused on providing additional strength in hardware and associated firmware development. Job Requirements: Design and development of electronic embedded systems for subsea and shipboard applications. Creation of new products from initial concept to final production, including both component and system-level development. Enhancement and maintenance of existing products through design improvements, addressing component obsolescence, and implementing cost-reduction strategies. Necessary Experience / Skills: Extensive expertise in defining and developing electronic products to meet customer specifications. Proficient in designing for compliance with industry standards and regulations. Experienced with communication protocols such as Ethernet, RS485, SPI, I2C, I2S, among others. Practical knowledge of Altium Designer. Demonstrated success in collaborative multidisciplinary settings. Strong hands-on debugging abilities and familiarity with laboratory equipment. Desirable Skills / Experience: Experience with version control systems. Skilled in PCB layout using Altium, creating manufacturing documentation, and collaborating with PCB fabrication and assembly services.
