Arcadis – Birmingham, England, United Kingdom Project Director – Data Centres (Nordics) Arcadis is the world’s leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. We are a rapidly growing team looking for an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a major data centre construction project in the Nordics. The successful candidate will be based either 100 % in-country or may need to travel internationally to the Nordics on an 11/3 rotation. Role Accountabilities Manage all stages of hyperscale data centre construction projects, taking projects through pre‑construction, construction, and close‑out/fit‑up. Pre‑construction Work with the client and general contractor to create and establish the Master Project Schedule and Master Project Budget. Support contractor pre‑qualification, bid solicitation, bid analysis and recommendations. Support contract negotiations. Assist the client and the client’s team in identifying, scoping, buying‑out and scheduling of all owner‑direct vendors and consultants. Construction Manage the general contractor and other directly contracted vendors on the ground. Coordinate Value Engineering efforts during the construction phase. Work with the client’s commercial and PCG team to develop Budget Management and Tracking. Liaise with the client’s schedule management team to provide schedule monitoring, tracking and analysis. Close‑out / Fit‑up Initiate close‑out process prior to project completion, typically two to three months in advance. Establish close‑out documentation requirements with the client’s document controller; collect and track receipt of all close‑out documents until completion, including warranties, as‑built drawings, O&M manuals, etc. Assist with city and/or other authority final inspections and occupancy process. Assist the client in scheduling, coordination and management of all owner‑direct vendors and consultants. Qualifications & Experience In-depth understanding of large‑scale technical projects and construction techniques. Ability to manage technical disciplines. Experience working on data centre new‑build and refurbishment projects, preferably on hyperscale builds. Ability to coordinate the work of other discipline‑specific owner’s representatives to achieve the objectives set by the client. Ability to commit to significant international travel. Why Arcadis?
