Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical) and Senior Design Engineer (Electrical) to join us at CPW, based at our Solihull Office. These are permanent full‑time positions working 36.25 hours per week under our agile framework. We are passionate and experienced mechanical, electrical and low‑carbon engineers who enjoy bringing buildings to life in ways that are better for the world. Our clients span a wide range of sectors, including: healthcare, education, residential, commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, zero carbon and public sector. Through the application of research‑led design, innovation, and sustainable methodologies we can create tailored solutions that meet the needs of our clients, whilst also being positive for the environment and delivering on net‑zero carbon. As a Senior Engineer, you will be a vital part of the team and have a high degree of autonomy. You should be a well‑organised, flexible, driven, forward planner with the ability to deliver work to a high standard and to tight timescales. You should also be able to take on the ability to manage the mechanical engineering aspects of other more junior members of the team assisting on projects. Key responsibilities include: Acting as Project Leader on selected projects Working as part of a larger team on certain projects Attending principal meetings and making client presentations on selected projects Raise/promote the level of technical excellence relating to mechanical engineering within the team Over time, develop the ability to become a point of contact for key clients Help generate repeat business through customer care of existing clients Working on a variety of technically challenging and interesting projects across varied sectors Be client facing and involved in all stages of the projects from inception to completion. Working closely with others in a team environment to achieve a common goal Producing drawings and specifications Producing calculations or guiding others to complete them We are looking for someone with a Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering (Chartered or working towards) / Candidates with HNC or HND with suitable design experience will also be considered.
