Support Worker

We are looking to recruit a Support Worker to join our team. This is afull-timeposition 42 hours per week. Long days, earlies, lates, nights included. £12.90per hour Sapphire House is located in Maidstone, in Kent. The home supports six autistic males and females, who may also have a learning disability. We are on a quiet street, off a main road, near the town centre. Our team are committed to empowering and encouraging the people we care for to develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible. Together we will work towards building independent skills and confidence, to assist them in meeting their potential. What you'll be doing You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work. As a Support Worker,you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of our residents and tenants. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives. Encouraging people to live as independently as possible, while supporting them in building their life skills and achieving goals at their own pace Supporting tenants in a person centred way, which can include assisting with personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living skills, including maintenance of their tenancy Complete daily administration of electronic and paper records with the involvement of the individual as appropriate Supporting the individual in maintaining their health and wellbeing, which may involve liaising with other specialists Supporting and encouraging the individual’s participation and integration in the local community through activities and interests that meet their ambitions and help them achieve outcomes in their chosen way Embedding the REACH standards in everyday practice Following company policies and procedures What you'll bring to the role Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows. The ideal candidate: A full UK drivers licence would be preferable Qualifications and Skills Excellent interpersonal skills and resilience Demonstrating initiative and the ability to work in a person centred way Ability to work alongside people to develop their potential and skills Empathy, understanding and patience Ability to work on your own and as part of a team Competent in verbal and written English A social care qualification is desirable, but not essential To be considered for this role, we require you to have the right to work in the UK.
