Join to apply for the Bank Kitchen Assistant role at Care Concern Group We’re looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team at Penrose Court Care Home, located in Kings Reach, Biggleswade. This is a bank contract with a pay rate of £12.21 per hour, days shift, and standard days off. What You’ll Do Assist in the preparation of food, ensuring meals are ready efficiently and to a high standard. Maintain general cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen area, including equipment and appliances. Receive, check, and safely store kitchen deliveries, ensuring proper accounting and storage. Apply safe food handling principles to maintain high food safety standards. Follow cleaning procedures for surfaces and equipment, ensuring everything is sanitized. Ensure all areas are well-presented and maintained in a professional kitchen environment. Practice safe systems of work across tasks to minimise risks. Understand and adhere to Health & Safety at Work legislation. Act professionally and courteously, fostering a positive workplace. Collaborate with colleagues to support teamwork. Responsible for safe and tidy storage of supplies and equipment within your area. Read and adhere to company policies and procedures. Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications Strong organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently and maintain a clean kitchen. Basic understanding of food safety and handling principles. Keen attention to detail for ensuring cleanliness, proper food storage, and accurate handling of deliveries. Good communication skills to work effectively with kitchen staff and management. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive kitchen environment. Desired Experience Experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is advantageous but not essential. Familiarity with food handling and safety procedures is beneficial.
