OverviewExpleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to work with our client, at Belfast. In this role the successful candidate will be working alongside a team of multi-disciplined Engineer working on cutting edge defence products. Your role will span the entire product life-cycle from design requirements capture and analysis through to defining the power architecture and designing, building, testing and verifying that the solution meets the customer’s needs. The Power Electronics role requires working within the Electronics team to optimise the design through trade-studies, analyses, modelling and simulation to produce best-in-class competitive products.We are looking for an energetic and driven individual with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with aerospace or military experience.This role represents a great opportunity to work with a blue-chip client, contributing to the security of the UK and our allies. Valued attributes are a team player who can use their initiative and has a real passion for engineering with an attention to detail, combined with a thorough, methodical approach to problem solving.ResponsibilitiesThe Power Electronics Engineer will perform, but not be limited to the following type of activities centred on the development and delivery of cutting-edge defence products:Developing electrical power architectures to meet design requirementsLeading in the design and prototype of power electronics circuitsUsing simulation tools to produce models of electronic and electrical power systemsLeading component and sub-system selection and manage evaluation activitiesDefine testing, validation and debug of component and circuit assembliesSupport to integration testingCreation of power electronics specifications, development and verification plansResponsible for compliance to regulatory standardsContribute to bid and estimating activitiesQualificationsDegree level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
