Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead A specialist manufacturing and engineering company delivering high‑quality process equipment packages is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead who steers from the front, champions best practices and inspires a proactive, safety‑first mindset across the business. Whether the successful candidate is already qualified or working towards a National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) certification, the company is open to all experience levels. The company’s facility combines advanced fabrication, testing and inspection capabilities, including pipe welding, mechanical fitting and in‑house Level 2 weld inspection and non‑destructive testing (NDT) services, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and reliability. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage and monitor the site’s EHS management systems (ISO 14001:2015/ISO 45001:2018) Implement and uphold site‑wide EHS programmes, policies and training initiatives Manage control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) and ensure safe handling of hazardous substances Conduct risk assessments, support occupational health activities and maintain accurate EHS reporting Analyse data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities Act as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and external audits Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including drills and training Promote a positive safety culture through engagement, communication and recognition Support sustainability initiatives (waste reduction, energy efficiency and environmental performance). Requirements Previous experience in an EHS or HSE‑focused environment NEBOSH certificate or diploma (or working towards this) Strong organisational and document management skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities A proactive, collaborative approach with strong attention to detail A full UK driving licence is required. This role is initially a contract/temporary position; however, it could lead to a permanent position.
