Specialist Dietitian – Phoenix MCT (Band 6, Permanent, Full Time) Job Ref: 201-25-867 | Site: Newquay Integrated Health Hub, Truro Health Park, 6a Heathlands Liskeard (Applicant Choice) | Town: Newquay/Truro/Liskeard | Salary: £38,682 – £46,580 per annum (pro rata) | Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Closing: 09/12/2025 23:59 Job Overview We are excited to advertise a specialist eating disorders dietitian to join the children's and young people's eating disorder service based in Cornwall. This role is part of a close, supportive and containing team that is passionate about providing high quality care. Main Duties Maintain an individual caseload from referral to discharge, conducting routine and high priority assessments and dietetic interventions as appropriate, exercising autonomy. Liaise and provide advice, information and consultation to colleagues and other agencies. Undertake service governance activity, including research and audit as appropriate. Contribute to the screening of referrals and participation in the Eating Disorders Duty rota. Join consultant paediatricians to conduct MDT clinics for children and young people suffering with eating disorders. Eligibility This role is currently open only to people who already work for the NHS in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly. Eligible organisations include: Cornwall Foundation Trust Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board If you do not currently work for one of these NHS organisations, your application will not be considered at this time. Person Specification Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or equivalent leading to Health Professions Council (HPC) Registration as a Dietitian A teaching qualification or experience of teaching groups. A wide range of post registration dietetic experience, including delivery of services in the community and some experience of working in mental health services. Specialist Dietetic Training at postgraduate diploma level or relevant equivalent experience gained through substantial advanced clinical practice. Essential Criteria Demonstrate an understanding of mental illness and how this may impact on the nutritional and dietetic needs of an individual. Ability to evaluate and report on complex data. Capability to work in highly stressful situations and manage distressing and highly emotive situations successfully. Showcase best dietetic practice for a range of conditions, assess success, and write reports. Ability to communicate with a wide range of people using differing media. Work independently and as part of a team. Desirable Criteria Advanced certificate in counselling skills or counselling experience. Membership of the British Dietetic Association Mental Health Group. Experience working with people with mental illness and eating disorders.
