7.5 Tonne Collections and Delivery Driver DPD UK, Bournemouth, England, United Kingdom Job Details Salary: £16.05 per hour – Overtime paid at enhanced rates Contract Type: Permanent, 40 hours per week Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:45 Location: DPD Bournemouth – Vulcan Way, Ferndown Industrial Estate, Ferndown BH21 7BU Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service during parcel collection and delivery Ensure timely and accurate collection and delivery of parcels according to scheduled routes Assist with loading and unloading parcels at the depot and customer locations Manage a daily schedule of approximately 50‑60 stops in your designated area Utilise provided equipment, such as a sack barrow/hand truck, to safely handle heavier items Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and any issues encountered during your shift Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies whilst operating the 7.5 tonne vehicle Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly Utilise handheld devices and company software to update delivery statuses and communicate with the depot Resolve customer queries and concerns professionally and efficiently Adapt to changing weather conditions and adjust your delivery approach accordingly Collaborate with depot staff and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and workload distribution Maintain a clean and presentable appearance, representing DPD to customers Qualifications A valid 7.5T (C1) licence, DQC (Driver Qualification Card) and CPC accreditation A clean driving record with no more than 3 penalty points At least 1 year of experience driving 7.5 tonne vehicles or similar Excellent customer service orientation Ability to work to deadlines, flexible and always go above and beyond Friendly, approachable, positive, resourceful and professional demeanor Strong multi‑tasking and problem‑solving skills Capable of lifting, loading and carrying heavy items up to 25 kg Excellent time management and organisational skills Good knowledge of local road networks and traffic patterns Calm under pressure, maintaining composure in challenging situations Comfortable using handheld devices and basic computer software Physically fit and able to handle the demands of a physically active job Strong commitment to health and safety practices Demonstrate the core DPD values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring, and Accountability Benefits Holiday trading Enhanced maternity and paternity package Free life assurance of 4 × salary on joining the pension scheme Unum Help@Hand – essential health and wellbeing services for you and eligible family members Health kiosks visiting every location Vitality at Work program Free on‑site parking Discounted shopping from hundreds of retailers, including up to 5 % off supermarket shopping Milestone Days off to celebrate with family and friends Free eye tests and support with the cost of glasses for employees who use a screen regularly If you identify with our aims and values and can help us deliver our customers' promises, then this is the job for you Apply today. #J-18808-Ljbffr
