Shifts alternate between morning (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM) and evening (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM), as part of a three-shift system ensuring continuous plant operations. StoneX is a financial services company headquartered in New York, with a large presence in London. The company operates in six key areas: commercial, hedging, global payments, securities, physical commodities, foreign exchange and clearing and execution services. StoneX has acquired a precious metals processing company in West Bromwich which specialises in the recovery and recycling of precious metals, with expertise in extracting silver, gold, platinum and palladium from various materials including photographic, electronics and industrial waste. The integration of the two companies will add refining capabilities to the StoneX Global Metals business and create opportunities for us to offer multiple products across the market. The purpose of the role will be to support and assist the Shift Supervisor in the production of silver from waste products. The role will require multitasking and carrying out every aspect of the process from incineration through to cupellation. Responsibilities Work closely with your Supervisor to ensure each shift runs smoothly Support continual improvement initiatives for the business Help deliver new ideas and strategies to support growth Work closely with other site production teams Help support the SHE Manager in building a better H&S culture Train to become competent in all aspects of production (Blast Furnace, Cupel, Rotary) Assist in all aspects of production as required by your Supervisor Perform general housekeeping duties Ensure the most effective and efficient running of all relevant plant Liaise with Supervisor and other Managers when required Act as site First Aider Ensure environmental and permit standards are adhered to at all times Report accidents and near misses Maintain health & safety procedures and ensure correct RPE/PPE are worn Be willing to be an H&S representative & site champion Qualifications Previous foundry experience advantageous Some knowledge or experience working with molten metal Health & safety conscious and willing to champion H&S on the shop floor FLT Certificate advantageous Aptitude to work as part of a team as well as independently Ability to think on your feet and exercise initiative "Can do" attitude Ability to work in a fast-paced production led environment Flexible and reliable Willingness to train on multiple pieces of plant Completed a recognised time‑served modern apprenticeship in an engineering discipline Experience with a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) Familiar with lean engineering principles Seniority level Entry level Employment type Full-time Job function Other #J-18808-Ljbffr
