Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available The role Due to significant, sustained growth throughout the Business we have exciting opportunities for Project Directors to join the Onshore Capital Delivery team within SSEN Transmission. You will Lead the delivery of a large portfolio of complex, high value (circa £1bn to £2bn), high voltage transmission projects, delivering on time and to budget with effective financial, quality and risk management. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders to positively influence and impact upon the delivery of projects and wider Transmission and SSE business objectives. Inspire, lead, and develop a high‑performing team with a strong delivery and commercial focus. Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture that drives results. Ensure, at all times, safety will be at the heart of your role ensuring all work is executed safely in accordance with the SSE safety licence – “if it’s not safe, we don’t do it.” Lead on the identification and prioritisation of continuous improvement within Project Delivery processes and supporting wider cross‑organisational improvements to drive improved project outcomes. You have Extensive experience leading large‑scale projects (over £300 million), especially in high‑value transmission or construction of major infrastructure, with a strong commercial mindset and proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage construction partnerships effectively. Solid expertise in financial planning for large capital projects, managing budgets, forecasting, and aligning financial goals with business priorities. Proven success in leading and nurturing multi‑disciplinary teams, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone is motivated to deliver their best. A strong delivery focus with experience of achieving excellent outcomes in demanding timescales within a high‑pressured project environment. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a genuine commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing, ensuring all activities meet the highest standards.
