OverviewJoin Dorset County Hospital as the Lung Cancer Screening Co-ordinator. The NHS long‑term plan aims to diagnose 75 % of people with cancer at an early stage by 2028. This post supports the Lung Cancer Screening Programme in delivering excellent patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the first point of contact for patients via phone and email, providing professional and empathetic support.Book, plan and reschedule appointments for lung health checks and CT scans, ensuring efficient patient flow and adherence to national waiting‑time standards.Accurately enter and maintain patient data on bespoke IT systems.Monitor and track patient progress through the screening and diagnostic pathways, escalating potential delays or breaches to clinical staff or management.Assist in the coordination and administration of MDT and Screening Review Meetings (SRMs), including preparing patient lists, collating results and imaging, taking minutes, and documenting outcomes.Build effective working relationships and liaise with GPs, nurses, consultants, radiology departments and external organisations.Provide general administrative support, such as handling correspondence, ordering supplies and supporting new team members.About the TrustWe work hard to create a fair, inclusive environment for our staff.
