Osterna, part of RMG and Places for People Group, is looking an experienced Residential Fire Risk Assessor to join a proactive and highly successful team covering a patch across Coventry and surrounding areas. You will work from home when not undertaking site visits, completing up to ten site visits a week (Monday to Friday). Although the role is based in the Coventry area, national travel may be required. What does the role involve? Specialising in residential housing, you will carry out inspections of traditional residential blocks, sheltered housing, HMO and high‑rise buildings over 18 metres, and write up reports with your findings. Completed risk assessments are used by Property Managers and Directors to initiate repairs or other procedures required to keep residential common areas safe. What knowledge, skills and experience are we looking for? A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential. Experience undertaking fire risk assessment work within the residential property sector on high‑rise buildings. NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Level 3 NEBOSH National General Certificate. Experience of undertaking suitable and sufficient Health and Safety and Type 1 and Type 3 Fire Risk Assessments (HSFRA) and Compartmentation Surveys. Accuracy and attention to detail within reports is essential, along with comprehensive knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation. Knowledge of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and supporting local government guidance. LaCORS experience would be great; training will be provided.
