As a Lecturer in Automotive, you will support and inspire learners preparing for successful careers in the automotive industry. You will plan and deliver engaging, innovative lessons that promote active learning, practical skill development, and industry readiness. Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality teaching, training, and assessment in vehicle mechanics Design engaging lessons and assessments that promote active and accelerated learning Use ILT and multimedia resources to enhance teaching and learning Deliver programmes in line with the college prospectus and curriculum plan Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement activities Monitor learner progress, achievement, and retention, addressing issues proactively Work collaboratively within the automotive team, contributing ideas and feedback Maintain up‑to‑date industry knowledge through CPD Ensure teaching is delivered to the highest standards at all times Comply with college policies, safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection You will play a key role in curriculum delivery, learner support, and continuous improvement within the Automotive Engineering department Qualifications GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above or equivalent) NVQ Level 3 qualification in Automotive (or equivalent) Minimum of 5 years' industry experience Experience of teaching or training in an educational or workplace setting Strong knowledge of current automotive industry practices Good IT, administrative, and organisational skills Ability to present information using ILT Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and across sites Prepared to work towards a teaching qualification You do not need to hold a teaching qualification at the point of application; however, you must have strong industry experience, a Level 3 automotive qualification, and a willingness to work towards a recognised teaching qualification Desirable Certificate in Education or Level 5 Teaching Qualification Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Benefits Top‑Tier Salaries – Competitive pay within the FE sector Unbeatable Time Off – 35-50 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays and Christmas closure Career Development – Funded teacher training, CPD opportunities, and clear progression routes Cycle to Work Scheme – Save money and commute sustainably Exclusive Onsite Discounts – Hair & beauty, dog grooming, vehicle checks, and more Fitness Benefits – Access to college gym or discounted local gym memberships Generous Pension Scheme – Employer contribution of up to 23.68% for teaching staff #J-18808-Ljbffr
