Senior Software Engineer – Engineering Team Manager Employer: Lloyds Banking Group End Date: Thursday 11 December 2025 Salary Range: £70,929 - £106,394 per annum Location: Halifax or Leeds Hours: Full‑time – 35 hours per week Working Pattern: Hybrid – spend at least 2 days (or 40%) per week at one of the above offices. Job Description Summary: As an Engineering Team Manager, you will lead and inspire a team of talented engineers, driving innovation and excellence in our projects. The role is crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of high‑quality software and platforms that make a real impact on our customers, businesses, and communities. You will be part of a dynamic team that values collaboration, continuous learning, and the pursuit of excellence. What You’ll Be Doing: Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of the product roadmap. Take hands‑on ownership for unblocking technical challenges and proving out new patterns and technical solutions ready for full use within the team. Act as a player‑coach, building others by developing and mentoring engineers on how to achieve the team and personal goals. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and high performance. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to succeed. What You’ll Need: Experience in technical leadership: proven ability to lead, coach and manage engineering teams, including offshore. Strong technical background in full‑stack JavaScript/TypeScript development (ideally Node and React). Ability to build strong relationships and demonstrate a passion for solving real‑world problems with technology. Experience designing technology solutions that are reliable, scalable and performant. Any experience of this would be useful: Knowledge of cloud platforms (ideally Azure) and source control platforms (e.g., GitHub Enterprise).
