Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – JLL Location: 22 Ropemaker Street, City of London Job Overview JLL Workplace Management is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to manage the maintenance and safety of a prestigious commercial building in the heart of the City of London. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance, reporting, technology use, client support, and regulatory compliance. Core Hours Monday – Friday – Day Shift pattern on rotation Shift A: 07:00 – 16:00 Shift B: 10:00 – 19:00 Responsibilities Safety & Maintenance Operations Work safely at all times. Carry out planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with JLL’s PPM and task schedules. Undertake PPM activity in a professional manner. Execute reactive maintenance works as directed. Engage proactively with on‑site technology to maintain optimal environments. Reporting & Communication Produce technical and situational reports as required. Write activity reports accurately and timely. Communicate clearly and effectively with the team and clients. Provide weekly timesheet information on time. Escalate major site issues or incidents promptly to the line manager. Technology & Compliance Use provided technology systems to ensure contractual compliance. Participate fully in the training program. Attend team meetings and briefings as requested. Client & Commercial Support Assist the management team with accurate quotations for extra works. Represent JLL positively in all interactions. Manage JLL subcontractors on site. Provide first‑line out‑of‑hours support for the site. Health, Safety & Environmental Understand and comply with all relevant legislation and internal policies. Handle, store, and use materials and equipment safely. Participate in health and safety processes, including risk assessments and audit reporting. Co‑operate with JLL to fulfil moral and legal duties. Carry out reasonable instructions from lead or line managers. Previous Experience and Qualifications Recognised apprenticeship, C&G, or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering / Heating & Ventilation / Air Conditioning. 5 years+ of prior maintenance experience. Single‑site experience preferred.
