Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our small, friendly team as a Health & Safety Trainer. The Health & Safety training team delivers high quality, effective multidisciplinary training programmes, including mandatory and statutory training within the Health Board. The post holder will predominantly deliver manual handling and violence & aggression training, contribute to the development of training events and programmes, and occasionally provide training at other Health Board venues. Responsibilities Deliver patient and non‑patient manual handling training and demonstrate all patient and inanimate load handling techniques included in the course content. Support staff with manual handling issues and assessments and provide advice on manual handling equipment to ensure staff can undertake their roles safely. Deliver violence & aggression training, demonstrating and undertaking all break‑away, escorting and safe‑holding techniques included in the course content. Maintain an understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislative standards and national guidance applicable to the training area. Qualifications & Requirements Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Experience in delivering manual handling and/or violence & aggression training. Ability to work independently and manage a flexible training schedule. Permission from current line manager must be obtained before applying – this is a 12‑month secondment, part‑time post working 3 days a week (22.5 hours). Benefits & Additional Information Secondment for 12 months, part-time (22.5 hours per week). Training delivered in purpose‑built facilities at Woodland House and University Hospital Llandough, with occasional visits to other Health Board venues.
